11/19/2008Caterpillar® Raises the Bar at the Permian Basin Oil Show
Warren CAT was a featured exhibitor at this year’s Permian Basin International Oil Show (PBIOS) on October 21-23, 2008 in Odessa, Texas. PBIOS is held every two years and brings people together from every phase of the petroleum industry. Visitors from around the world come to learn about the latest technology, the newest equipment, and to network.
This year, Warren CAT worked closely with Caterpillar to fully maximize its presence at the show. A wide array of Cat® products were on display in the 8,000 square foot outdoor booth which featured a 50 foot high air-conditioned tent, complete with glass doors and decorative windows. The booth was even referred to as the “Caterpillar Castle” by local media due to its massive size. Along with natural gas compression and transmission machines, the display featured the Cat NASCAR® race car, plasma televisions and an overhead light show. Visitors were invited to pose with the NASCAR car and receive a framed picture as a souvenir. Several pieces of Caterpillar earthmoving equipment were also on display, as well as portable power equipment often used in the oil industry.
The timing for this year’s PBIOS was right on target, since it fell during a time of economic upswing for the oil industry. The event featured 708 exhibitors, spread out across 150,000 square feet of exhibition space, including the entire coliseum, open fairgrounds, and five barns. The event provides a boost to the local economy, brining in over $5 million in total revenues. The next PBIOS will take place in fall 2010.
